About Captain Frank
Well, I guess this is the place where I'm supposed to tell you all how great a fisherman I am and that we catch lots of huge fish all the time…yada, yada, yada!
OK, so as not to disappoint anybody, I'll write something here. Captain Frank is an avid outdoorsman and he has been fishing most of his life. This line probably sounds familiar. But, HEY, I've got the pictures to prove it! (See below).
So what else would you like to know? How long have I been fishing? Truthfully, I cannot remember the exact date I began. But I estimate it was around 1976--at least that is when I started to take fishing seriously.
I say 1976 because that is when I bought my own surf rod and reel for $150, instead of using one of Pop's leftovers. I was10 years old at the time and, yes, it was MY money! I worked construction with Dad during the summers. The picture below is the first thing I caught on the rod--a small Sea Bass from the jetty at IBSP. Well, Dad bought our first boat around 1977. In those days, we were pretty much strictly Fluke fishermen (Tuckerton & Barnegat Bays), at least from a boat. We also had a 4-wheel drive and, since Dad was a schoolteacher and had the summers off, we did a lot of surf fishing in the summer off of Island Beach State Park (IBSP).
I have owned and operated my own boat since 1992. I specialize in Fluke and Striper fishing. Shenanigans II is my third vessel. I have almost exclusively fished the Belmar, NJ area since 1992. If you would like to try the Shrewsbury Rocks for Stripers, I'm the Captain for you! OK, that is enough bragging--at least for now. I'll save some for your trip!
